Our Story

Built by players. Priced for players.

After decades in racket sports, we set out to build something simple: a padel racket that delivers real performance, without the inflated price tag.

EXPERIENCE

40+ years in racket sports

Founders Peter Hilton and Dave Cross have each spent over 40 years playing squash. That experience shaped how they think about rackets — how they should feel in the hand, perform under pressure, and deliver consistency over time.

More recently, Peter discovered padel and quickly fell in love with the sport.

THE PROBLEM

The market wasn’t working for players

Like many players, we were frustrated by a market dominated by large brands offering expensive products with little real-world difference.

Great performance shouldn’t be locked behind premium pricing or marketing hype.

THE RESPONSE

Exceptional quality, without the premium

In response, Pete and Dave designed a squash racket in the UK with a simple aim: exceptional quality at an affordable price.

That same thinking became the foundation of everything Vadetep stands for.

THE SHIFT

The same philosophy. A new sport.

Working with his partner Jane, Pete brought that philosophy into padel — developing a racket built for the realities of the game, not marketing claims.

The result is the Vadetep VPC Control 01: a teardrop-shaped padel racket designed for intermediate players seeking a balanced blend of control and power, without paying a premium.

THE DETAILS

Designed for confident, controlled play

A sandblasted rough face helps generate spin, while full carbon fibre construction, an EVA foam core and a medium balance deliver a solid, durable feel.

Everything is designed to support controlled, confident play across a wide range of situations on court.

COMMUNITY

Built locally. Made accessible.

Vadetep rackets are deliberately priced to help make padel more accessible, without compromising on performance or build quality.

Based in North London, Vadetep works closely with local clubs, coaches and communities. Try-before-you-buy is available directly or through selected partner clubs.
